IT + Robotics workshop at IEEE SIMPAR 2018

IT+Robotics organizes a workshop  during the sixth IEEE SIMPAR 2018 International Conference on Simulation, Modeling and Programming for Autonomous Robots that is held in Brisbane, in Australia, from May 16th to May 19th. The workshop is organized in collaboration with IAS-Lab, University of Padua and the Institute of Industrial and Control Engineering Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and is supported by SIRI, the Italian Association of Robotics and Automation.

Goal of the workshop is to highlight recent advances in task and motion planning, as well as in ontology and cloud engines frameworks for robotic applications and to explore new ways to exploit knowledge to improve the combined use of different planning levels. The participating researchers will present important challenges, techniques and benchmarks needed to combine the task and motion planning in the framework of cloud robotics. At the end of the sessions a round table will be organized to encourage interaction between the participants in order to outline a series of main objectives for future international cooperation on the topics of the workshop.

Speakers:  Neil T. Dantam – Dept. of Computer Science, Colorado School of Mines. Howard Li – Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of New Brunswick, Canada
