IT+Robotics Srl, spin-off company of the University of Padua
is looking for a full time one year (re-newable)
Research scientist with PhD in Robotics, Computer science, Computer Engineering or Mathematics with software programming skills (application deadline 15/07/2017)
To work on robotics simulation. In particular the scientist will focus on coverage planning algorithms.
IT+Robotics known for its strong expertise in the market of robotic simulation, developed complete software solutions such as WorkCell Simulator and WCS Coverage Planner. The two simulation solutions are the results of former IT+Robotics’ EU research projects Thermobot and Fibremap.
In the 2016, IT+Robotics applied successfully to INNOSUP 2016 SME INNOVATION ASSOCIATE call. The project is starting in September 2017.
The successful candidate will bring his knowledge inside the aforementioned software products developing a framework for inspection work-cells. The objective is to create software solutions able to setup, simulate and deploy the machine code for robotics cells with image sensors (2D and stereo cameras, laser triangulation, structured light vision systems) for inspection tasks.

The main key challenges are:
• full coverage of the part to be inspected has to be ensured while avoiding collisions;
• optimize motion planning in order to reduce cycle time whilst satisfying the process model constraints.

PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Robotics
Excellent academic track record with publications
Very good English skills, written and spoken
Strong background in motion planning and task planning.
Strong proficiency with C/C++ programming, with recent C and C++ coding experience
Strong Object-Oriented design skills.
Strong independence, i.e. capable of designing, implementing and supporting new features in the product with minimal supervision.
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
The successful candidate will be working with our team composed by PhDs and senior engineers in order to face and solve the aforementioned key challenges.
Being a part of a spin-off involved in a variety of European projects, challenging industrial projects and with everyday contacts with the Intelligent Autonomous System Lab of the University of Padua will represent for the candidate a stimulating environment to his/her professional growth.

The salary will be very competitive. The net annual amount is 45,000.00€ .
